The Dame Robina Shah Foundation

Welcome to the Dame Robina Shah Foundation

The Dame Robina Shah Foundation is a purpose-driven charity committed to opening doors, shaping futures, and creating opportunities for young people.

Founded and chaired by Professor Dame Robina Shah DBE JP DL FRCGP (Hon) SHFEA PhD, and led by our CEO Aaron Saxton (aka: Sax), the Foundation brings together an extraordinary board of trustees from business, sport, hospitality, health, education, and technology. Together, we are united by a common mission: to empower disadvantaged and underrepresented young people to thrive.

Our Vision

"A world where every young person has the confidence, skills, and opportunities to shape their own future."

Our Mission

"To break down barriers to opportunity by delivering programmes that build resilience, develop digital and leadership skills, support mental health and wellbeing, and connect young people with inspiring role models and real-world experiences."

Our Programme: Futuremakers - Opening Doors

Our flagship programme, launching in partnership with Dean Trust Ardwick, provides young people with:

  • 🎓 Digital skills & industry-recognised certifications
  • 💼 Entrepreneurship & personal branding workshops
  • 🌍 Industry immersion experiences
  • 💬 Mentoring, enrichment & wellbeing support
  • 🛡️ Wraparound care, including first aid and mental health training

This is just the beginning. With the support of schools, employers, and communities, we will expand our reach to empower young people across Greater Manchester and beyond.
